Our voices won't be there, but our hearts remain
From the SheBelieves Cup to the Olympics and World Cup qualification, 2021 will be a massive year for our beloved national teams. We can’t wait to see them take the field – but for now, we must do so from the safety of our homes.
The American Outlaws will not host official sections at this month’s upcoming matches, nor will we sell tickets or host in-person events. Our chapters have been directed to not have a visible, organized presence, and anyone who chooses to attend the match will be doing so at their own discretion.
We respect the safety protocols U.S. Soccer has planned, such as mandatory face coverings and social distancing. However, given the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic, we believe it’s less safe now than ever to gather and provide a full in-person AO experience. While we will not be there, we appreciate that U.S. Soccer will not allow drums or banners so as not to encourage behavior that is currently unsafe. The health and safety of our members is paramount, and we will not put them and other fans at risk through activities that are contrary to CDC guidelines.
In the coming weeks, we look forward to highlighting our players, many of whom look to earn their first cap with the senior teams. We look forward to cheering them on in person when it’s safe to pack the stands. Until then, we will continue to do what is best and safest for our organization and our incredible members.
