Updated (again) CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying Scheduling
On December 4th, CONCACAF has confirmed the new schedule for the qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. FIFA just announced that certain international match windows will be extended to enable Confederations to schedule triple-match dates to be able to get the necessary games in before the World Cup, due to Covid-19 suspension of qualifying. This means CONCACAF Confederations can schedule three matches in each of the September and October 2021; and January and March 2022 FIFA international match windows. This will enable the final round of eight teams, The Octagon, to conclude by March of 2022 and get all the home and away games in. But before The Octagon....
The first and second rounds of qualifying consists of the non-top-5 teams of CONCACAF, that will play for the remaining 3 spots in the final round, The Octagon.  The first and second round games will be played from March 2021 to June 2021, with the final 8 teams starting the final round September of 2021.
