The American Outlaws to Honor Soccer Star Julie Ertz on April 20

Join us and Julie Ertz at Timothy O’Tools on April 20th at 6 pm to help us present Player of the Year trophy. Julie will stick around for a autograph and Q&A session.
Chicago, Ill.: On Friday, April 20, the American Outlaws (AO) will honor Julie Ertz, star defender/midfielder of the United States Women’s National Soccer Team (USWNT) and the Chicago Red Stars, as 2017 American Outlaws member-voted Player of the Year. A question-and-answer session and meet-and-greet will follow the 6:30 p.m. trophy presentation at Timothy O’Toole’s Pub, 622 N. Fairbanks Ct. Ertz, who received the most votes of any player in a survey open to AO’s 30,000 members, played in 12 of the USWNT’s 16 matches in 2017. Despite her position as a centerback and defensive midfielder, she scored six goals — second only to forward Alex Morgan’s seven. Overall, Ertz has 15 goals in 59 appearances with the USWNT, including the team’s victorious 2015 Women’s World Cup campaign; she was one of five players to play every minute of all seven matches and was subsequently named to the FIFA Women’s World Cup All-Star Team. Since 2014, Ertz has played professionally for the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), and has earned accolades including Rookie of the Year and a spot on the NWSL Best XI. “Julie works hard every play of every game, and fans appreciate her passion and dedication to the national team. She has always represented our country with class, and is one of the first to recognize and acknowledge the fans who support her day in and out. This vote is just a reflection of her great play and the wonderful example she sets for the next generation of players.” said Justin Brunken, Co-Founder of The American Outlaws.
