The preparations began as soon as the field was set at the FIFA Final draw on December 6th. Phone calls were made, emails went out. The American Outlaws were traveling to their first Women’s World Cup in neighboring Canada. Expectations were high. We received rave reviews for our presence in Brazil and back home in the United States last summer. For us, as an organization, heading north to support the United States women’s national team, was a no-brainer. As it turns out our members were on the same page as well.
From Winnipeg to Vancouver and every stop in-between the #AOFamily came to Canada to support this team. In the end we were rewarded with the ultimate prize… that coveted third star.

The road to the Final in Vancouver on July 5th began in Winnipeg on June 8th. Here the USWNT would face Australia in their opening group match. We gathered at Barley Brothers (our wonderful home for the week) before the match for merriment.
Megan Rapinoe would shine in this match. The Matildas would later on in the tournament make a bit of a Cinderella run, but the USWNT triumphed on the day 2-0.
The USWNT's second game in Winnipeg against Sweden proved to be quiet a chess match between coach Jill Ellis' side and former coach Pia Sundhage. The result was a 0-0 draw, but the U.S. remained in the group's driver seat.
On to Vancouver and the group's finale against Nigeria.
