Soccer Doesn’t Stop: U.S. National Teams Have a Packed End of 2026
We just put the World Cup in our rearview mirror, but the road ahead is anything but desolate. U.S. soccer fans have a packed 2026 ahead. Youth national teams will compete for world titles, and the USWNT and USMNT chase regional supremacy. Here's what's coming up for American soccer fans.
July 25 – August 9
Concacaf Men's U-20 Championship in Mexico
What’s next starts right now, as the Concacaf Men's U-20 Championship kicks off this weekend. Many of tomorrow's senior national team players will take on Haiti, El Salvador, and Cuba in Group A.
This tournament is more than just a competition for a Concacaf trophy. All four semifinalists qualify for the 2027 U-20 World Cup; the champion also earns 2027 Pan American Games and 2028 Olympic spots (the U.S. already qualified as host).
September 27 – October 13
Fall International Friendlies
The senior national teams return to the field this fall. The USMNT will play four to-be-announced friendlies as the program begins building toward its next chapter. Meanwhile, the USWNT welcomes one of Europe's best when they face Spain in a two-match series on October 10, in Washington, DC, and October 13, in Chester, PA.
October 17 - November 7
FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco
Youth World Cups are launchpads for future stars. FIFA now holds the annual U-17 Women's World Cup in Morocco, giving more young players global experience. The US U-17 WNT is in Group E with China, Kenya and Samoa.
November 9-17
Concacaf Nations League Quarterfinals, locations TBD
The USMNT jumps back into competitive matches with the Concacaf Nations League, after a bye to the quarterfinals. We don’t yet know our opponent for this home-away series, but we know the Yanks want to rinse away the bad taste from the 2025 finals.
November 19 - December 13
FIFA U-17 Men’s World Cup in Qatar
Would you believe that 10 players on the USMNT’s 2026 World Cup roster played in a U-17 World Cup? This tournament offers a glimpse at players who could become household names over the next decade. The U-17 MNT will battle Montenegro, Chile, and Algeria in Group J.
November 27 - December
Concacaf W Championship/Women’s World Cup Qualifying
The USWNT enters the Concacaf W Championship at the knockout round stage. The single-elimination tournament crowns a regional champion and determines which teams will go to the 2027 Women’s World Cup and 2028 Olympics.
The four-time world champs start with a quarterfinal match against El Salvador. The first two rounds will be in Mansfield, TX, with the championship played in Houston. The compressed process will demand hyperfocus
