Covenant House: A Decade of Supporting our Community with American Outlaws Houston

Since at least 2013, the American Outlaws Houston chapter has proudly supported Covenant House, a local-Houston shelter that serves homeless youth. When the chapter first approached Covenant House about being the recipient of a donation drive, the shelter welcomed the idea without hesitation. Since then, the chapter has enjoyed the freedom to donate anytime—day or night—simply by dropping items off. Some donations have even occurred as late as 2:30 AM, after watch parties ended.
While Covenant House typically accepts only hygiene items, it remains an ideal community recipient, especially during events like U.S. Soccer matches when travelers often bring hotel-sized toiletries. These travel-friendly amenities are a perfect fit for the shelter's needs.
The drop-off process is always straightforward. On one occasion, a particularly large box of deodorant filled an entire car trunk. A few high school-aged boys standing outside the shelter noticed the struggle to unload it and immediately stepped in to help. When offered some deodorant by the chapter, they politely declined, saying they would wait for the staff’s approval. Their actions were a reminder that homelessness does not equate to a lack of dignity or manners. Covenant House staff have always been courteous and deeply appreciative of the donations. During the SheBelieves Cup, one donor even contributed toothbrush holders shaped like crayons, which a staff member excitedly called “adorable.”

Covenant House has become a fixture in Houston’s support network. As one of the few shelters for minors that operates 24/7—most close by 5 PM—it plays a critical role in the community. With locations across the country, Covenant House may also be serving youth in your city.
The American Outlaws Houston chapter is proud to have donated to Covenant House for over a decade—without a single issue. If you're looking for a meaningful way to give back, consider supporting this incredible organization!
