​ USA v Ireland 11/18/2014 @ 2:45 ET ESPN2 Aviva Stadium – Dublin, Ireland     After a 1-2 loss to Colombia on Friday, the boys are back in action on Tuesday and will face The Republic of Ireland in Dublin.  It was an electric atmosphere inside Craven Cottage on Friday even with US fans being largely outnumbered by Colombians.  A frustrating result after taking an early lead, but a good test against a worthy team nonetheless.  Since beating the Czech Republic away in September, the yanks have surrendered their lead in each of the past three matches, drawing with Ecuador and Honduras, and now losing to Columbia on Friday in London.  Having been leading Colombia 1-0 (again) at halftime, Jurgen Klinsmann will be disappointed to have conceded two second half goals. Nevertheless, he will be looking to finish the year on a high in Dublin on Tuesday night.    Damarcus Beasley, Jermain Jones, DeAndre Yedlin, and Lee Nguyen will be returning to their clubs following the Colombia loss, with no replacements being added.  Not a huge surprise given the upcoming playoffs for most of these guys.  Here’s the full roster:  GK: Bill Hamid, Brad Guzan, Sean Johnson, Nick Rimando DEF: Matt Besler, John Brooks, Geoff Cameron, Timmy Chandler, Greg Garza, Fabian Johnson  MID: Kyle Beckerman, Alejandro Bedoya, Mix Diskerud, Julian Green, Alfredo Morales FOR: Jozy Altidore, Miguel Ibarra, Jordan Morris, Rubio Rubin, Bobby Wood, Chris Wondolowski   Bobby Wood almost bagged one after a slick build-up move against Colombia and will be aching for another chance on Tuesday.  One would have to think that Matt Besler will slip back into the defense that he commanded during the World Cup alongside John Brooks. The U.S. struggled to retain possession against the Colombians.  Perhaps Cameron will play alongside Beckerman to clean up the midfield, with Mix in front. Also will be interesting to see if Jozy retains his captaincy after scoring on Friday.  Regardless of the team, anything less than a victory will be a huge dissapointment for the coaching staff.    Now, listen up.  This next part is important.    2014 is almost over for the full national men’s team.  What a year it’s been for Jurgen Klinsmann and Co.  A year largely set up for finishing preparation for the World Cup has since shifted to brief reflection and now the future, all in just a few months’ time.  We’ve certainly experienced the highest of high’s (Being 2-1 up vs Portugal), and the lowest of low’s (Deuce getting stuffed on the perfectly executed free-kick vs. Belgium in added time) during this time period.  Woof.     American Outlaws and the USMNT have had an incredible year.  You have represented the boys in the stadiums and bars throughout world, generating new awareness and sustaining the momentum for the game, while showing the world what this sport and team mean to us.  You have been incredible.    But make no mistake, this is just the beginning.  You are laying the foundation and setting the standard for the next game, every game.       We have absolutely no intention of slowing down.    We love you, US fan.  Thanks for sharing 2014 with us.
