How’s it going, Outlaws?

We’re halfway through a year that’s been unprecedented in terms of … well, just about everything.

But hey, at least Christian Pulisic is still very much Christian Pulisic.

So, what else is going on?

• FIFA awarded the 2023 Women’s World Cup to Australia/New Zealand on Thursday! Expect a huge turnout of Outlaws in Sydney, Auckland, Melbourne … maybe even Perth?

• We didn’t have to wait three years to see some of those players on the pitch – the NWSL returned this past weekend! The NWSL Challenge Cup features USWNT mainstays Crystal Dunn, Abby Dahlkemper and Alyssa Naeher. Oh, and Rose Lavelle, who continues to do Rose Lavelle things.

However, the most memorable and important moment of the weekend occurred before kickoff of the Chicago Red Stars – Washington Spirit match:

Other stuff that's good to know:

• Congrats to Heather O’Reilly , Stu Holden and Aaron Long, all of whom welcomed the newest members of the U.S. soccer family in June!

• Josh Gatt has signed with defending Irish champs Dundalk FC. We couldn’t be happier for the U.S. winger, who earned a couple caps with the MNT before enduring a long run of injuries and his wife Melissa’s battle with cancer.

• Rest in peace, Ken Snow. The two-time collegiate national player of the year and former national teamer died June 21 from COVID-19 complications.

• U-23 fullback Julian Araujo donated meals to be delivered to California farm workers. It’s not the first time he’s given back to his community. "When the sun rises, you go to work. When the sun goes down, you continue working. Thank you for working with your hands, your mind and your heart."
