That’s A Wrap: Uswnt Vs. Thailand With #Aolive

By Dan Wiersema / VOAO

Editor’s Note: We’re trying something new here at AOHQ where we put our #AOFamily in the driver’s seat for U.S. National Team matches. We call it #AOLive. Their game, your comments, our recap.

For every MNT and WNT match just tag your tweets with #AOLive and you could have your hot takes, cold takes, in-game commentary, puns or whatever featured in our social review.

Apparently there's a segment of the Internet that's mad that the USWNT won a soccer game and won it big and then celebrating winning. OK....

Yeah they overwhelmed Thailand and dispatched them with ease, but the WNT is, actually, the best team in the world and they did exactly what teams who are #1 in the world do when they face the #34 team in the world.

Complaining the Rose Lavelle or Lindsey Horan celebrated too hard for their first World Cup goals or Alex Morgan continuing her ruthlessness to a point that she's put the world on notice (again) is just plain silly. Did Megan Rapinoe slide in too hard on hers? Don't care.

Ok.... enough of the silliness. Let's talk about the dominance.

We got on a bus to Reims.

And pre-partied

And marched.

We had a pretty good view (per usual).

A surge of pride hit all of American right before kickoff.

Alex Morgan scored early and then scored a bunch more. She leads the Golden Boot race with five goals now and tied fellow American Michelle Akers for the most goals in a single World Cup game (5).

Rose Lavelle, Sam Mewis and Lindsey Horan notched their first World Cup goals.

Same, girl, same.

PS.... you're going to tell Lindsey or HER PARENTS to not celebrate? LOOK AT THIS:

Tobin out here snatching souls.

Things got pretty out of hand in the second half.

All good time was had in the stands.

LD10 joined the #AOFamily in San Diego for just a little bit of drink

We loved how many Americans made the trip from far and wide to support this team of badasses.

Most goals in a World Cup game. It's history, folks.

We're back in action Sunday against Chile at 12pm ET. Find your local AO chapter and join in the fun! www.theamericanoutlaws.com/chapters
