As 2017 winds down, there are still plenty of US Soccer news to chat about. This week Pulisic bagged a worldie for Dortmund, Alex Morgan grabbed yet another piece of hardware and more. Let's get to talking.

US Soccer is proposing some big structural changes, including the role of the federation’s President. The board of directors proposed adding a General Manager position to oversee the men’s team. Read more on the proposal here.

Presidential candidate Kyle Martino spoke with the New York post on how he plans to fix US Soccer, starting with youth development, and USA Today featured Eric Wynalda, who discussed his platform with the paper.

USMNT Notes

So uh, turns out Christian Pulisic is pretty damn good. One of many reasons he was named USMNT player of the year last week.

U20 midfielder Jonathan Gonzalez finished off a great season for Monterrey, helping guide the team to the Apertura final. For his efforts, the 18 year old (!!!) was named to the Liga MX Best XI.

Depending on who you heard the news from, former France and PSG coach either turned down the opportunity to take the USMNT reins or he was never offered them to begin with. Sunil pumped the brakes and said Blanc was not approached by the Federation, and other reports say a decision on a new skipper won’t be made until after the World Cup, too.

After a big year for the youth teams, signing for Werder Bremen and a senior team call up, Josh Sargent has his sights set on a lot more next year. The 17 year old talked with Brian Sciaretta about what the future holds here.

USWNT Notes

Alex Morgan earned CONCACAF Female Player of the Year on Sunday after leading the Yanks in scoring and putting up good numbers with Orlando Pride and helping Olympique Lyon to a treble.

Carli Lloyd and Alex Morgan contributed to the FIFPro Women’s Football Survey last week, analyzing "Working Conditions in Professional Women's Football" and covering everything from pay, tournament prize money and childcare to discrimination and match-fixing. You can read it here.
