THE HYPE

World Cup Qualifying is BACK, baby! The USMNT returns to the Hex sitting in fourth place. The previous round saw the Nats smash Honduras and draw with Panama away to snatch four, crucial points. Once more into the breach for the red, white and blue with Trinidad & Tobago, the group’s basement dweller tonight in Commerce City, Colorado. In 2013 DSG Park became the scene of the epic #SnowClassico against Costa Rica sparking a steamroller through the rest of the CONCACAF region to top the Hex and head to the 2014 World Cup. The USMNT will hope for similar downhill momentum heading into a massive away match against Mexico on Sunday. El Tri was able to break their boogyman in Columbus last year so perhaps the U.S. can return the favor at Azteca. T&T might seem like a walk-over and it would be easy to look past them with Mexico looming in the following days. No matter what the Nats need to make sure they button up and execute effectively tonight or risk sabotaging their hopes for Russia 2018.  Young Christian Pulisic is now the engine of this team. His shake-and-bake goal vs. Venezuela last week showed he lack no confidence in making something out of nothing. Our defense needs to step up and put the lock down if they have any hope of slowing a potent Mexico attack or sieving a dumb goal against T&T.  Four points from the next two games will give the USMNT some breathing room in the standings.  Let's get ready to rumble.  Here are the rosters.  USMNT Roster By Position (Club; WCQ Caps/Goals): GOALKEEPERS (4): Brad Guzan (Atlanta United FC; 13/0), Ethan Horvath (Club Brugge/BEL; 0/0), Tim Howard (Colorado Rapids; 35/0), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake; 0/0) DEFENDERS (10): DaMarcus Beasley (Houston Dynamo; 33/6), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City; 11/1), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin/GER; 3/0), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City/ENG; 20/2), Omar Gonzalez (Pachuca/MEX; 14/0), Matt Hedges (FC Dallas; 0/0), Tim Ream (Fulham/ENG; 4/0), Jorge Villafaña (Santos Laguna/MEX; 2/0), DeAndre Yedlin (Newcastle United/ENG; 6/0), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City; 17/3) MIDFIELDERS (8): Kellyn Acosta (FC Dallas; 2/0), Paul Arriola (Club Tijuana/MEX; 2/1), Alejandro Bedoya (Philadelphia Union; 8/0), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC/CAN; 33/6), Fabian Johnson (Borussia Mönchengladbach/GER; 15/1), Dax McCarty (Chicago Fire; 0/0), Darlington Nagbe (Portland Timbers; 5/0), Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund/GER; 7/3) FORWARDS (4): Jozy Altidore (Toronto FC/CAN; 36/16), Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders FC; 38/18), Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders FC; 3/0), Bobby Wood (Hamburg/GER; 8/4) T&T Roster GOALKEEPERS (3): Adrian Foncette (Police FC), Marvin Phillip (Point Fortin Civic Centre FC), Jan-Michael Williams (North East Stars) DEFENDERS (9): Radanfah Abu Bakr (FK Sūduva Marijampolė/LTU), Sheldon Bateau (Krylia Sovetov Samara/RUS), Daneil Cyrus (Unattached), Aubrey David (PS Kemi Kings/FIN), Carlos Edwards (Central FC), Curtis Gonzales (Defence Force), Triston Hodge (W Connection), Alvin Jones (W Connection), Mekeil Williams (Colorado Rapids/USA) MIDFIELDERS (9): Hashim Arcia (Defence Force), Andre Boucaud (Dagenham & Redbridge/ENG), Kevan George (Jacksonville Armada/USA), Hughtun Hector (W Connection), Khaleem Hyland (KVC Westerlo/BEL), Joevin Jones (Seattle Sounders FC/USA), Nathan Lewis (San Juan Jabloteh), Kevin Molino (Minnesota United FC/USA) Leston Paul (North East Stars) FORWARDS (3): Shahdon Winchester (Murcielagos FC/MEX), Jamille Boatswain (Defence Force), Kenwyne Jones (Atlanta United/USA) Head out to your nearest AO chapter bar to support the boys tonight.  Be loud.
