Pre Game Hype: Usmnt V New Zealand
The Basics US v New Zealand Date: 10/11/2016  Time: 8pm ET Location: RFK Stadium - Washington, DC TV: ESPN, UniMas Watch with your #AOFamily at one of 190 chapters bars.  THE HYPE After a 2-0 win against Cuba in Havana on Friday afternoon the USMNT prepares for its last match before Mexico. There was not a lot to take from the friendly with the Cubans. The pitch was horrific and the refereeing was suspect (see Birnbaum kick to the dome) at times, and neither side seemed too concerned about getting the win. Julian Green and Chris Wondolowski exchanged goals & assists with each other, and seemed to be the most lively players on the pitch. Ethan Horvath also impressed, even coming up with a few saves to keep the clean sheet in his first full cap. The USMNT is 2-0 against the New Zealanders, winning both games by 2-1 in 1999 and 2003. The “All Whites” as they are referred to, have a mixed history in the men’s footballing world. They qualified for the 2010 World Cup, but failed to qualify after losing to Mexico in the playoff leading up to 2014 (You’re Welcome Mexico). Here’s the updated roster: GK: David Bingham, Bill Hamid, William Yarbrough DEF: Kellyn Acosta, Matt Besler, Steve Birnbaum, Omar Gonzalez, Michael Orozco, Tim Parker, DeAndre Yedlin MID: Paul Arriola, Michael Bradley, Lynden Gooch, Perry Kitchen, Sacha Kljestan, Danny Williams FOR: Juan Agudelo, Jozy Altidore, Terrence Boyd, Julian Green Expect to see another round of new faces on Tuesday night. Besler and Acosta will look to impress JK in order to get that call-up to Columbus. Looks like Klinsy has maintained his confidence in Sacha Kljestan after he stubbornly wouldn’t give him consistent minutes during his first five years at the helm. Perry Kitchen has been playing well for Hearts (and as their new captain) in Scotland and will want to receive a good ovation from the locals after his tenure at DC United. Juan Agudelo returns along with Terrence Boyd(!) up top. Would be great to see these boys on the field. Here is a list of your watch party locations www.theamericanoutlaws.com/chapters Let’s get another W and keep this momentum before we play Mexico on 11/11. We love ya! AO
