The Hype
“Hats off to the American Outlaws, they have driven it on their own. They used to come in dribs and drabs and they have banded together and created a voice. It is brilliant for us now, to see the banners and the colors. They go where we go. For us as players it gives you goose bumps. There are men and women who have decided that it means something important in their life to get behind us and get loud and supportive. That is incredibly moving to me. The main thing is just to know their mindset, that they are right there to dig in and fight with you. Soccer is a team game and that extends to them.” - Tim Howard
Dear #AOFamily,
Let Timmy’s words wash over you. Let them fill you with strength and hope.
On Saturday the United States men’s national team will face Mexico in a winner-take-all match for a trip to the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia.
On Saturday thousands of American Outlaws will #FillTheBowl to sing and chant with one voice in support of our team.
On Saturday thousands more will pack our chapters with eyes glued on TV screens in nervous anticipation of this match.
This is the most highly-anticipated match of the #USMNT’s year. Friendly wins, Gold Cup woes… those are in the rearview mirror. World Cup Qualifying is on the horizon, but TODAY we play Mexico.
Mexico, our old friend, Mexico…
How have you been? Yes, yes…. we’ve heard of your recent Gold Cup success. Yes, yes…. we’re reminded of THAT Giovanni Dos Santos goal from 2011.
Very nice memories. Very nice.
TONIGHT, though, it is #ForAllTheMarbles. One game. Regional bragging rights on the line (at least until we met again in the WCQs).
Read Howard’s words to yourself again. Share them with your friends. Kiss the badge.
Let’s do this.
XOXO,
AO
