The USMNT take on Panama in the 3rd place match of the 2015 Gold Cup in Philly this afternoon. Does it hurt? Yes. Does it seem like a meaningless match? Yes. But matches like this are what separate real supporters from the others. We will support this team in any stadium, anytime, anywhere, in any competition without break.

The boys conceded two first half goals against Jamaica on Wednesday, and came close to leveling the match on several occasions in the 2nd half. But it wasn’t to be in this Gold Cup, and thus the boys will play the winner of Mexico/Jamaica in October for the right to play in the 2017 Confederation Cup in Russia.

Panama will certainly feel they deserved to be in the final after

losing 2-1 late to Mexico with some #dodgy referee decisions. Such is the life we have all chosen…. #CONCACAF. The motivation might be lacking from both teams, but it will hopefully be a good chance to see some of those on the roster who weren’t able to make an impact in the GC thus far. Here’s your roster: Roster: GK: Brad Guzan (Aston Villa/2007), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake/2013/2011), William Yarbrough (Club Leon) DEF: Ventura Alvarado (Club America), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Timmy Chandler (Eintracht Frankfurt), Brad Evans (Seattle Sounders FC), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy), Fabian Johnson (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Tim Ream (Bolton Wanderers), Damarcus Beasley (Houston) MID: Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes), Michael Bradley (Toronto), Mix Diskerud (New York City), Joe Corona (Tijuana), DeAndre Yedlin (Tottenham), Gyasi Zardes (LA Galaxy), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City) FOR: Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders), Aron Johannsson (AZ Alkmaar), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes), Alan Gordon (LA)

It must be noted that this will likely be Damarcus Beasley’s last international match. A veteran of 4 World Cups and a true American Soccer hero, let’s send him off the right way.

COME ON, YOU YANKS! XOXO, AO
