USWNT vs. Sweden Time: 7:00pm CT Location: Investors Group Field, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada TV: FOX (yes, the big one) Find your local chapter bar to watch with fellow AOs! The Hype Megan Rapinoe. So hot right now. Megan. There really is no other way to get more hyped than mentioning Monday’s hero. Did you see it? Watch her “beast-mode” on Australia. Already watch it? Watch it again. The USWNT opened their Women’s World Cup campaign with a 3-1 win over Australia in Winnipeg. Today they’re back at it again versus Sweden in the same city. Lots of storylines to follow. Former U.S. coach Pia Sundhage has made her feelings clear about a lot of her former charges. Perfect bulletin board material for this team heading into the match. With a win today the USWNT is in pole position of their group before they head off to Vancouver to face Nigeria. Sweden is a stern test for these Nats. After struggling early against Australia (and relying on two amazing Hope Solo saves) the USWNT finally unlocked the Aussies. Sweden, ranked fifth in the FIFA rankings, is the toughest match up anywhere in the group stages. If the USWNT is going to make a statement about their intentions in this tournament it has got to be today. Full USWNT Roster: Goalkeepers: Ashlyn Harris (Washington Spirit), Alyssa Naeher (Boston Breakers) and Hope Solo (Seattle Reign FC). Defenders: Lori Chalupny (Chicago Red Stars), Whitney Engen (Western NY Flash), Julie Johnston (Chicago Red Stars), Meghan Klingenberg (Houston Dash), Ali Krieger (Washington Spirit), Kelley O’Hara (Sky Blue FC), Christie Rampone (Sky Blue FC) and Becky Sauerbrunn (FC Kansas City). Midfielders: Shannon Boxx (Chicago Red Stars), Morgan Brian (Houston Dash), Tobin Heath (Portland Thorns FC), Lauren Holiday (FC Kansas City), Carli Lloyd (Houston Dash), Heather O’Reilly (FC Kansas City) and Megan Rapinoe (Seattle Reign FC). Forwards: Sydney Leroux (Western NY Flash), Alex Morgan (Portland Thorns FC), Christen Press (Chicago Red Stars), Amy Rodriguez (FC Kansas City) and Abby Wambach (unattached). No matter the challenge… it’s the World Cup Final or bust. #WeWantThreeStars XOXO, AO
